About Riding Lessons

Amy Gage has owned Heald Street Horse Farms for over 25 years, and enjoys teaching riding to students of all ages and skill levels. Amy has spent most of her life around horses; her family moved to the UK in 1975, where she was a member of the British Pony Club and received the AI Instructor certification from British Horse Society. She has owned a number of wonderful horses over the years, and holds the highest respect for the equine partnership. 

Running the farm for over two decades has been a true labor of love, and Amy takes pride in introducing newcomers to the joys of learning from these majestic creatures. Lessons are private, scheduled one on one weekly, and concentrate on safety, balance and skills progression. Having fun is easy in this beautiful New England farm environment!

In addition to offering lessons, the farm also offers the opportunity to board and lease horses. 

Lessons:

We specialize in beginner and intermediate level riding lessons.

Riders should be at least 6 years old. Much care is taken to teach students correctly and safely how to interact with the horses. Lessons are taught on experienced school horses who know their job and do it well.

Beginner lessons are done as private 60 minutes lessons.  Students are also taught how to groom and tack up their horse.  

Fee $75.for 1 hour private lesson.

Semi-private 60 minutes lessons are $60 per rider.

Trails Rides are enjoyed in local forests and fields.

Horses:

~ Blue is our 23 year old Pinto Arabian cross, who doesn't look (or act) a day over 7! He's a big boy, curious and has a great canter.

~ Emmy is our 10 year old pony mare, and loves her job. She is a great and gracious work horse, and loves to be out riding. 

~ Hush Puppy is our 7 year old Welsh pony. He is the youngest member of the team, and a quick learner!
